one of the amazing things about this couple is their mutual admiration for each other. they clearly see their partner as a gift…it comes out in the way they look at one another and how highly they speak of each other. it’s beautiful to witness.
we went to the mountains together and they did not disappoint. here is levi & janelle.

i think if you check out the sign these guys made for their ceremony, it will give you a good idea of what their community looks like. lots of people from lots of places, all descending on mason’s riverside family home to celebrate their marriage. it was quite the party.

jonas & sarah. their day was a feast for the senses…the warm sun on our skin, the smell of wildflowers and the heaviness of the air from rain the night before, the sound of an old piano echoing across the field, the taste of honey and of course, the sight of love. it was a good day.

it takes a village.
it all started with a little girl named amaya. she and her dad, morgan, needed a village to support them as he worked full-time to provide for their family. this is where the small town childcare centre stepped in, where morgan’s sister worked with a lovely young lady, jessica. morgan’s sister watched love start to grow in jessica’s heart for this little girl and she couldn’t help but take matters into her own hands to try to connect jessica with morgan.
and the rest is history. the village that walked with them as individuals and brought them together as a couple threw them an incredible party to celebrate their union and set the foundation for their family.

there is something powerful about seeing two people from very different backgrounds come together and choose to forge a future as one. these two have already faced some uphill battles, both as individuals and as a couple and it’s exciting to see them stand beside each other filled with hope for what’s to come. thanks for sharing your hearts and your time with me, shane & taelyr.

while july 12th, 2014 was their wedding day, their story spans more than a decade. it all started when they were teenagers, both attending the same boarding school. they were friends and spent a fair bit of time together, but it didn’t progress much further than that. years passed, relationships came and went, maturity occurred and their paths crossed again at their ten year reunion. it was only then that sam realized all these years she had been comparing other guys to matt – none of them had all of the things she was looking for but him. i loved hearing their perspective, knowing that if they had tried to commit earlier on, it might not have worked. it took those years of growing up for them both to recognize what they needed and wanted and who it was that would fill that void. here’s to another few decades…together this time around. venue & caterer: fraser river lodge | wedding planner: erica mckeddie of filosophi events | decor: valley weddings | hair: jamie fox & dana parsloe | make-up: denise elliott | flowers: holly tree florist | band: side one

ashley & corey. as evidenced in the following pictures, this day was SO FULL of joy. one of the many things i love about this couple is that they were incredibly organized in advance…minute to minute schedules, labeled thank you envelopes, detailed lists…but when it came to the actual day and there happened to be a few glitches, there was no hysteria, no freak outs no bridezilla. ashley was cool as a cucumber. even when the ceremony started an hour late, you could not wipe the smile off that girl’s face. that’s how it’s done, friends! when it’s all said and done, no sense worrying about the things you can’t control.

10 years ago, they were hanging out as friends (and only friends) at a local coffee shop. 5 1/2 years ago, they were watching an episode of dexter and dustin stunned jean by asking her out. last sunday, they stood in front of the four of us and exchanged rings.
can we talk about the way dustin looks at his bride for a second? oh my word. so sweet.
