these are the days. the long, dark, wet days. the days we spend trying to distract ourselves waiting for the sun to return. so when it does, you better believe we run to it.

the zacharias family. first there was quinn…she captured our hearts in a way we didn’t expect and left us wanting so so much more, but has stayed close by to remind us what hope looks like. second was asher…a man of few words, who is a sweet little ball of giggles and thoughtful stares and most definitely his mother’s son. and now beck…who will you be, little love? can’t wait to see.

i met these two years ago through mutual friends, in fact, i think it was before they were even married. certainly before either of us had children. now here they are, 2 kids later celebrating 10 years – TEN YEARS. so awesome to be a witness to faithfulness.

about three weeks ago, i posted this picture on instagram:my four year old had just learned how to ride a two wheeler and we wanted to go for a family bike ride, but…i didn’t have a bike. in stepped a gracious friend to lend me the bike she’s not using at the moment. while i was super excited about this new acquisition, i was also a little nervous after not having ridden a bike in a couple of years. i asked my kids for some tips and my (now) 8 year old said: “believe in yourself”. once i recovered from hearing that (tears), this little dude says, “i’m so proud of you for riding a bike mom”. more tears.i will be honest and say that this particular morning, i was tempted to go on autopilot, stick on a movie for simon and hunker down at my desk to get some work done. but after 4 games of uno and two books, i knew that wasn’t going to happen. solution? put together a couple of packages for clients and bike down to the post office together. two birds, one stone. extra bonus, our sweet little town has a skate park and playground, so we had a snack, biked around and played a little hide and go seek to top it all off. he’s a good hider. go check out all the other beautiful posts by the childhood unplugged babes here!

if there’s anything that i know about 2 year olds, it’s that they love to share the spotlight.
see what i mean? i got to meet oren when he was a brand new baby and his mom was, to this day, the most laid back first time mom i’ve ever laid eyes on. pictures outside? sure. on the ground? sure. in the leaves? sure. it was awesome. fast forward two years and i was driving out to harrison to see this family that now consisted of four. what a sweet addition their little girl is. i think she fits in so well – let’s just say she’ll never be short on entertainment.

i know i’ve been a little absent lately and for that, i apologize. don’t worry, i have still been working…editing and packaging summer weddings, taking some family sessions, prepping for next year, etc. etc.
but i have also been breathing. which feels nice because i kinda forgot that my body and mind and heart and soul actually need me to every once in awhile. so i might not have blogged that much, but i’m still here and i assure you am not going anywhere 🙂 (p.s. if you’d like a little insight on my day to day while the blog is quiet, you can find me on instagram @sharaleprang).
here are a few snaps from a sweet family i had the pleasure of meeting “down by the river” recently. don’t worry: they don’t live in a van.

mandi & kevin celebrate their fifth anniversary this year and what better way to commemorate than to haul out the dress and run around in a field! photography wasn’t as much of a priority when they got married, so mandi was really excited to get some nice pictures of them together…and of course she looked beautiful in the dress(after two kids, nonetheless)!
after a quick change, the kids came to join us. what a sweet little family!
it’s such a joy to watch your family grow!
